Internet News The LifeBoat foundation, a group that
"
is a nonprofit nongovernmental organization dedicated to encouraging scientific advancements while helping humanity survive existential risks and possible misuse of increasingly powerful technologies, including genetic engineering, nanotechnology, and robotics/AI, as we move towards a technological singularity.
"
Is currently seeking donations to help enable some of their members travel to the US Navy's Strategic Studies Group that is taking place Nov 6th. One of the scientists involved with the SSG has actually taken the time to ask that members of the LifeBoat Foundation participate:
"
[The SSG] would appreciate the opportunity to gain insights into the activities of the Lifeboat Foundation and have discussion about different programs you have to help "safeguard humanity." We are especially interested in how you identify and mitigate risks associated with future technological developments."
In short..they need money.. are a registered Non-Profit (so you can write it off your US Taxes) and it seems like a good related cause.
